Cricket Bids Unleashed: Abu Dhabi Hosts IPL Auction Extravaganza

India's ODI Battle Squad: Full Player Roster Against Australia

The 2026 Indian Premier League auction is scheduled for December 16 in Abu Dhabi, as per sources cited by Sportstar. Despite recent discussions suggesting a potential return of the mini-auction to India, BCCI officials have decided to conduct it overseas for the third consecutive year due to logistical reasons.

In previous years, the auction took place in Dubai in 2023 and then in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This year’s mini-auction will be a single-day event where 10 franchises will aim to address their team weaknesses. Franchises have until November 15 to confirm their player retentions.

Amidst the retention buzz, a high-profile trade is being speculated between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals involving star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson.

The Royals have reportedly requested another player as part of the trade deal for Samson. While CSK prefers a direct swap between the two players, both valued at approximately Rs. 18 crore, the franchise has not dismissed the possibility of including another player in the transaction.

There are suggestions that Sam Curran might be part of the trade. Additionally, there is speculation that Jadeja may be offered the captaincy of the Royals, though the franchise has not made any official comments on this matter yet.
