India’s Women’s ODI World Cup-winning team is set to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday, November 5. Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, the team made history by defeating South Africa in the final, securing their first World Cup title after a remarkable comeback from three initial losses.

According to Sportstar, the Prime Minister’s Office extended a formal invitation to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday. The team, currently in Mumbai, is expected to travel to the national capital by Tuesday evening before returning to their respective homes after meeting the Prime Minister.

Though no official celebration has been arranged yet, the BCCI has announced a reward of Rs 51 crore for the women’s team as a gesture of appreciation for winning their first-ever ICC title. This reward will be distributed among the players, support staff, and the national selection committee.

In a tweet dated November 2, 2025, Prime Minister Modi praised the Indian team’s outstanding performance in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Finals, highlighting their skill, confidence, teamwork, and tenacity throughout the tournament.

While the distribution details are not fully disclosed, it is anticipated that the players and the head coach will receive around Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 crore each, with assistant coaches and support staff receiving approximately Rs 25 to Rs 30 lakh.
