Yashasvi Jaiswal Set to Strengthen Mumbai Squad in Upcoming Ranji Trophy Clash
India’s cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal has notified the Mumbai Cricket Association about his availability for Mumbai’s upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Rajasthan. In alignment with the BCCI’s mandate that all contracted players should take part in domestic tournaments when not playing for the national team, Jaiswal will join his team in Jaipur for the match starting on November 1, with the Mumbai squad anticipated to arrive on October 30.
Initially, Jaiswal had planned to transfer from Mumbai to Goa at the start of the season, but he later requested the MCA to cancel the No Objection Certificate. However, his international obligations have kept him from participating in any domestic games this season. His last appearance for Mumbai was in January in a group stage match against Jammu and Kashmir, which also featured Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer.
In a separate initiative, Jaiswal has pledged to sponsor the Best Player awards for the finals of the Harris and Giles Shield tournaments, two prominent school-level competitions in Mumbai, through the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA). An MSSA representative expressed support for Jaiswal’s decision, stating, “He has expressed his willingness to give back to Mumbai cricket by supporting these three awards. We welcome his move.”
