New Zealand Fights Uphill Battle Against India in Women’s World Cup 2025 Clash

New Zealand Faces Daunting Challenge in 2025 Women's World Cup Against India

In preparation for their crucial match against New Zealand in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, Muzumdar acknowledged that the team has engaged in some ‘honest discussions’ after struggling to close out tight matches.

“To be frank, we’ve been unable to seal the deal in recent games. While we often emphasize the significance of a strong start, it’s finishing well that ultimately leads to victory,” he noted, expressing hope that the lessons learned would lead to success against the White Ferns.

In recent years, Richa Ghosh has established herself as a key finisher, but the coach emphasized the need for other players to support her efforts.

“As a batting unit, we’ve talked about this issue. Clearly, we need to reach a point where we can give Richa the freedom to play her natural game. We’ve struggled to convert our 50s into 100s, something we managed well before this World Cup, but we are optimistic about changing this pattern,” Muzumdar stated.
