Women’s ODI World Cup: ICC’s Most Affordable Global Event Ever
To provide a comparison, the previous ICC Women’s World Cup in 2022 had ticket prices set at NZD 7 for children and NZD 17 for adults, not including any additional fees. In Indian Rupees, this converts to approximately INR 350 (USD 4.45) for children and INR 850 (USD 10) for adults, which is about eight-and-a-half times higher than the ticket prices for the current World Cup.
The 13th edition of the Women’s World Cup features eight teams: co-hosts India and Sri Lanka, along with Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, England, and South Africa. In a recent development, the ICC has significantly increased the prize money for this edition to USD 13.88 million, which is nearly four times the prize money of USD 3.5 million from the 2022 edition.
