Akeal Hosein Boosts West Indies Squad for Remaining ODIs Against Bangladesh

West Indies cricketer Akeal Hosein is gearing up to participate in the current three-match ODI series against Bangladesh. The left-arm spinner is scheduled to join the team tonight as they gear up for the second ODI, having lost the first match by 74 runs.
“Akeal is expected to arrive tonight to join the ODI team,” confirmed Jerome Foster, the media officer of Cricket West Indies, to Cricbuzz on Monday.

The series opener saw spinners from both teams making a significant impact on the low and slow pitch at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday, prompting the inclusion of Nasum Ahmed.
In the match, West Indies left-arm spinner Khary Pierre impressed with his bowling, taking 1 for 19 in his 10 overs, while offspinner Roston Chase claimed two wickets. On the Bangladesh side, spinners Rishad Hossain and Tanvir Islam shared eight wickets between them, leading the hosts to victory.
Additionally, 24-year-old left-arm pacer Ramon Simmonds has been called up for his first ODI appearance after playing two T20 Internationals for the West Indies. Fast bowlers Jediah Blades and Shamar Joseph will return to the Caribbean. Jason Holder is also expected to arrive on October 21 to participate in the T20Is.
